Argentinian failed to hack it under Maurico Pochettino and returns to Italy having spent last season on loan at Roma
TOTTENHAM have sold defender Federico Fazio to Roma for £2.8million.
The 30-year-old made 48 appearances in Italy with them last season.
Now the Argentinian international has made a permanent move to Serie A.
A month later he was red carded again in a Europa League tie with Asteras T.
He never really established himself in the Tottenham set-up and made just one Capital Cup appearance under Mauricio Pochettino.
Fazio returned for a loan spell at Sevilla before joining Roma on a season-long loan deal last August..
Tottenham said in a statement: “We have reached agreement with AS Roma for the permanent transfer of Federico Fazio.
“Federico joined us in August 2014 from Sevilla and went on to make 32 appearances in a Spurs shirt before returning to spend half of the 2015-16 season on loan with the Spanish side.
“We wish Federico all the best for the future.”
Fazio made 32 starts for Tottenham along with three appearances on the bench.
