Fairygodboss, a job review website specifically for women, released its latest ranking of the 25 companies where women are happiest. The site ranks businesses based on almost 15,000 job reviews from women answering questions about gender equity in the workplace and job satisfaction. Boston Consulting Group was this year’s winner with other big name employers like Dell, PepsiCo, and Apple also cracking the Top 10. Although there’s still a long way to go to closing the pay gap, some big companies are taking steps to tackle the problem.
Afghan girls robotics team to compete in Washington
A team of six Afghan girls will be competing in an international robotics contest this week after the girls initially had their visas denied. The girls were the only team of the 162 nations competing that had their application rejected, the Associated Press reported. However, the State Department granted them entry after having denied them twice, according to a statement from the competition organizers. The FIRST Global Challenge began Sunday and concludes on Tuesday.

The fourth annual World Emoji Day (yes, it’s a thing) is Monday, celebrating the explosion in use of the little characters that have changed the way people around the world communicate. Some have despaired that the symbols are the harbingers of the end of the written word. But experts say that far from destroying language, emoji are enhancing people’s ability to fully express themselves as text-based communication increasingly replaces face-to-face interaction.
